Ubud – Cultural Heartbeat and Jungle Retreat

Our stay began in the serene surroundings of Ubud, a little outside the centre at Canvas Escape Resort, a perfect spot for unwinding in nature. Later, we moved into the heart of town at The Artini Dijiwa and Kadewa Retreat, where we enjoyed vibrant local art, lush rice terraces, and the peaceful atmosphere that Ubud is famous for.

While in Ubud, don’t miss:

  • Tis Cafe serves fresh, healthy meals in a cozy garden setting.

  • Sayan Point offers breathtaking views over the Ayung River valley.

  • Tibumana is a waterfall located about 45 minutes from Ubud by car.

  • Cretya Ubud is renowned for its multi-tiered pools and stunning rice terrace views, making it a must-visit attraction in Bali.

  • Monkey forest UBUD.

  • Kadewa Retreat - the most beautiful place we stayed.

Seminyak – Chic Beaches and Vibrant Nights

From Ubud, we headed to Seminyak, staying at Lloyds Inn, a minimalist haven perfect for relaxing after days exploring the lively town. Seminyak dazzles with its high-end boutiques, buzzing nightlife, and some of Bali’s best dining.

Top picks here:

  • Sugar Sand for sunset drinks — aim to get there by 6 PM, amazing sushi.

  • Ling Ling’s Bali for Asian fusion in a stylish setting.

  • Be sure to visit Seminyak Beach, explore Eat Street, and experience Petitenget Temple!

Jimbaran – Relaxed Coastal Escape

Jimbaran’s relaxed beach atmosphere and breathtaking sunsets provided the perfect getaway, with stays at Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran and Best Western Kamala Jimbaran.

Known for its beautiful beaches, fresh seafood, and spectacular sunsets, Jimbaran is an ideal spot to unwind.

Uluwatu – Cliffs and Waves

Uluwatu is famous for its dramatic cliffs and surf breaks. Puri Pandawa Resort provided a comfortable base to explore nearby beaches like Dreamland, Green Bowl, and White Rock Beach Club.

Must-visits include:

  • Sundays Beach Club for a day of sun, sea, and great food.

  • Palmilla Beach for relaxing in a beautiful setting.

  • Rolling Fork Padang Padang - amazing restaurant.

  • Single fin - best sunset views.

Canggu – Surf and Chill

Our stay at Umpadhi Canggu gave us access to one of Bali’s coolest surf towns, full of hip cafes, street art, and laid-back vibes.

Canggu favourites:

  • YUKI Canggu for incredible sushi.

  • Milk & Madu for breakfast.

  • Finns Beach Club for beach lounging and great cocktails.

  • Nelayan Beach.

Nusa Lembongan – Island Calm

A short trip to Nusa Lembongan introduced us to tranquil beaches and charming resorts like Bale Gede Lembongan, perfect for unwinding and snorkeling.

Must go to:

  • Blue Lagoon

  • Dream Beach

  • Ceningan island

  • Jungutbatu Beach

Gili Trawangan – Island Vibes

Gili Trawangan boasts crystal-clear turquoise waters and a lively, social vibe—perfect for relaxing beach days and vibrant nightlife.

Popular activities here include snorkeling, diving, and watching stunning sunsets.

With no cars on the island, transportation is by horse-drawn carriage or bike. We preferred biking, as we felt sorry seeing the horses carry heavy loads on their carriages.

Prices on Gili Trawangan tend to be higher compared to other parts of Bali.

Kuta – The Bali Buzz

We finished our trip in Kuta at Swiss-Belhotel Tuban, soaking up the energy of Bali’s busiest beach town, with its shops, bars, and endless entertainment.
